  • <p>We are looking for an Accounting Manager to support a specialty property accounting firm and their operations in Edmonton, Alberta. This position plays an important role in producing reliable financial information, maintaining strong accounting controls, and helping operations teams make informed business decisions. The successful candidate will oversee full-cycle accounting activities, contribute to accurate reporting across property portfolios, and help maintain compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><br></p><p>• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for commercial/retail, residential and specialty property portfolios, ensuring reporting is accurate and delivered on schedule.</p><p>• Manage full-cycle accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close procedures.</p><p>• Analyze budgets, forecasts, and operating results to identify trends, variances, and opportunities to improve financial performance.</p><p>• Provide oversight and guidance to accounting team members involved in hotel and property accounting, helping maintain consistency and quality across workflows.</p><p>• Monitor financial controls and review supporting documentation to ensure transactions align with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.</p><p>• Work with operations and vendors to address accounting-related process gaps, reporting issues, system limitations, and cash management concerns affecting property performance.</p><p>• Support acquisition and transition activities by reviewing balances, inventories, deposits, receivables, payables, prepaid items, and other financial records tied to incoming properties.</p><p>• Assist with tax filings, utility-related accounting coordination, vendor administration, and other special projects assigned by management.</p>
