  • We are looking for a Finance Manager to join a family investment office in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Long-term Contract basis. This position will provide maternity leave coverage while leading the full finance and accounting function across a varied portfolio spanning distribution, hospitality, and real estate. The successful candidate will bring strong financial oversight, sound judgement, and the ability to support reporting, budgeting, and operational accounting needs in a multi-entity environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for multiple entities and ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date.<br>• Manage accounts payable activities, including reviewing transactions, monitoring coding, and maintaining appropriate approval controls.<br>• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation as required.<br>• Develop, monitor, and refine budgets and forecasts to support decision-making across a diverse investment portfolio.<br>• Prepare clear and timely financial packages, including materials for leadership and board-level reporting.<br>• Apply Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE) in financial reporting and ensure compliance across all relevant entities.<br>• Support inventory-related accounting processes where applicable, including valuation, tracking, and reconciliation activities.<br>• Provide financial analysis and practical recommendations to help leadership assess business performance and planning priorities.

  • <p>Our client, a Canadian technology company pioneering sustainable solutions for the extraction and recovery of critical and precious metals is looking to hire a Corporate Controller for their growing team.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the Opportunity</strong></p><p>Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Corporate Controller will lead the accounting function and oversee a team of three accounting professionals. This is a hands-on leadership role well suited to a CPA with a strong public practice foundation who enjoys working in a growing, entrepreneurial environment and wants to have a meaningful impact on processes, reporting, and the overall finance function.</p><p><br></p><p>The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting capabilities, a practical approach to process improvement, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively to senior leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>• Lead and oversee the accounting function, providing mentorship, guidance, and leadership to a team of three accountants.</p><p>• Own and oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.</p><p>• Prepare and review IFRS financial statements, including supporting schedules, disclosures, and technical accounting memos.</p><p>• Prepare MD&amp;A and financial reporting materials for the Board and external shareholders.</p><p>• Partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership on financial reporting, accounting matters, and business initiatives.</p><p>• Oversee the preparation of tax working papers and coordinate with external tax advisors as required.</p><p>• Manage and coordinate the annual audit and external reporting process, acting as a key point of contact for external auditors.</p><p>• Ensure appropriate accounting policies, internal controls, and financial processes are established and maintained.</p><p>• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and strengthen internal controls as the organization continues to scale.</p><p>• Oversee accounting requirements related to SHRED (Scientific Research and Experimental Development) and other government funding/tax incentive programs.</p><p>• Manage accounting and reporting associated with the company&#39;s stock-based compensation plan.</p><p>• Support the CFO with financial analysis, technical accounting research, ad hoc projects, and other strategic initiatives.</p><p>• Contribute to building scalable accounting infrastructure and best practices to support the company’s growth.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>
