We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join a team in Ottawa, Ontario and provide strong financial insight across reporting, budgeting, and project performance activities. In this role, you will help strengthen financial controls, support accurate revenue recognition, and contribute to planning processes that guide business decisions. The successful candidate will combine analytical thinking with sound accounting knowledge to deliver clear reporting, practical recommendations, and dependable support to finance and operational teams. Responsibilities:• Examine preliminary financial statements, assess key results, and complete month-end journal entries along with balance sheet reconciliations.• Evaluate project financial performance through earned value analysis and detailed project reviews to identify trends and issues.• Flag engagements with elevated financial exposure and support appropriate revenue treatment based on accounting requirements.• Analyze contract terms to identify provisions that could affect financial reporting and revenue recognition outcomes.• Create, refine, and maintain finance policies and procedures that support planning, analysis, and consistent reporting practices.• Work closely with internal and external auditors by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and assisting with control-related review requests.• Contribute to the rollout of organizational systems and help embed finance processes into regular business operations.• Assist with the preparation of forecasts and annual operating, shared services, and capital budgets, while tracking variances against plan.• Produce short- and long-range financial analysis, modelling support, and ad hoc reporting for finance colleagues and subcontractor teams.
