Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their finance team for a contract role. Reporting to the Controller, this role will support a portfolio of housing-related entities and play a key role in financial reporting, account analysis, and maintaining the integrity of the organization's financial records. The successful candidate will take ownership of reconciliations, month-end activities, and financial reporting while providing valuable support to both finance leadership and operational stakeholders.Key responsibilities include:<ul><li>Preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end working papers</li><li>Assisting with monthly financial reporting packages, including income and expenditure reporting and variance analysis</li><li>Preparing first-draft financial statements and supporting schedules</li><li>Maintaining and analyzing balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness</li><li>Supporting financial oversight of tenant ledgers and property-related accounting activities</li><li>Managing accounting activities across multiple entities, including related-party transactions</li><li>Assisting with process improvements and identifying opportunities to enhance reporting and operational efficiency</li><li>Collaborating with finance, administration, and operational teams to support organizational goals</li><li>Providing guidance and support to junior team members as needed</li></ul>ABOUT YOU:You are a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys being part of a collaborative team environment.
