What You’ll DoReporting to the Controller, the Accountant, will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations and supporting the financial health of multiple business entities. Responsibilities include:• Oversee the full-cycle accounting function, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, bank reconciliations, accruals, and month-end/year-end close• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and supporting schedules• Review and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts• Coordinate and review accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, cash application, and customer account reconciliations• Manage invoicing and accounts payable processes with a hands-on approach, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance• Support external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and required documentation• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies• Partner with Operations, Dispatch, Sales, and Customer Service teams to resolve accounting and billing issues• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency• Prepare government remittances, including GST/PST and other regulatory filings as required• Assist management with financial analysis and special projects• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation across multiple entities• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment with both local and remote team members

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Revenue Accountant to support a local government organization. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who can oversee complex revenue activities, interpret funding arrangements, and maintain accurate accounting records across a large and multi-department environment. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills, sound contract knowledge, and the ability to manage invoicing, reporting, and reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy. Responsibilities:• Oversee revenue accounting activities for numerous departments and funding arrangements, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and consistently.• Examine contracts and funding documents to determine billing requirements, account coding, and appropriate revenue recognition treatment.• Prepare, issue, and record invoices in the accounting system while maintaining complete and organized supporting documentation.• Maintain reliable revenue records and contribute to financial reporting by tracking activity and validating supporting details.• Review entries involving debits and credits to confirm proper classification and resolve discrepancies where needed.• Organize and centralize agreement documentation while developing practical tools to monitor revenue-related activity.• Manage a high volume of active agreements, including addressing outstanding backlog items and setting up new records for ongoing administration.• Monitor renewal and expiry timelines for contracts and coordinate with managers and directors regarding follow-up actions.• Provide broader accounting support through reconciliations, audit preparation, fund accounting activities, and department-level financial tracking.
