- <p><strong>THE ROLE:</strong></p><p>Robert Half is partnering with a respected nonprofit organization to identify an experienced Interim Controller for a key leadership contract opportunity. Reporting to senior leadership, the Interim Controller will oversee the organization's accounting operations, prepare accurate financial reporting for both internal and external stakeholders, and provide leadership to a small finance team. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering board-ready financial information, supporting government reporting requirements, managing budgeting activities, and assisting with financial and operational initiatives across the organization.</p><p><em>Key responsibilities include:</em></p><ul><li>Prepare monthly, mid-year, and year-end financial statements in accordance with NPO accounting standards and the deferral method of accounting</li><li>Deliver financial reporting and insights to the Board of Directors, senior leadership, and government stakeholders</li><li>Lead monthly close processes and support year-end and budget cycle activities</li><li>Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support organizational planning</li><li>Perform scenario analysis and provide recommendations related to funding, compensation, and operational changes</li><li>Oversee accounting operations, financial controls, and continuous process improvements</li><li>Supervise and mentor a small finance team while supporting cross-functional collaboration</li><li>Act as the finance lead for financial systems and workflows, including SharePoint approval processes and related technology initiatives</li><li>Partner with leadership on strategic projects and organizational decision-making</li></ul><p><strong>ABOUT YOU:</strong></p><p>You are a collaborative and adaptable finance leader who enjoys balancing technical accounting responsibilities with strategic business support.
