- <p>Our client is seeking an <strong>Accounting Analyst </strong>to join a leading organization in <strong>Calgary </strong>within the Oil & Gas Services sector on a long-term contract basis. This role is suited to an intermediate to senior-level accounting professional with experience managing high-volume transactions, complex reconciliations, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will support accurate financial records, variance analysis, and timely month-end and year-end close activities.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Manage end-to-end reconciliations for high-volume retail inventory and related accounts.</li><li>Prepare and post journal entries and accruals, ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate and complete.</li><li>Support month-end and year-end close activities, including reviewing balances, resolving discrepancies, and meeting reporting deadlines.</li><li>Perform detailed account, bank, and balance sheet reconciliations across large data sets and investigate variances to identify root causes.</li><li>Analyze financial results and prepare clear, accurate variance explanations.</li><li>Use enterprise accounting and ERP systems to process transactions, review account activity, and maintain data integrity.</li><li>Collaborate with finance and operational teams to resolve invoice, accounts payable, and payment-related issues affecting account accuracy.</li><li>Use advanced Excel functions, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP, to organize data, validate information, and support reporting.</li></ul><p><br></p>
