We are looking for an experienced Web Developer to support a non-profit organization in Thornhill, Ontario through a Long-term Contract engagement. This role is ideal for someone who can strengthen and maintain a WordPress-based web presence while improving functionality, user access, and site performance. The successful candidate will bring a practical mix of front-end and back-end web development experience, along with the ability to interpret user activity data and help enhance the overall online experience.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Maintain and enhance the organization’s WordPress website to ensure reliable performance, usability, and content accessibility.<br>• Administer, configure, and update WordPress plugins while monitoring compatibility, security, and overall site stability.<br>• Support user sign-in functionality connected to organizational systems and troubleshoot access-related issues as needed.<br>• Contribute PHP development support for website features, customizations, and ongoing technical improvements.<br>• Review website usage data to identify traffic patterns, user behaviour, and opportunities to improve engagement.<br>• Work with internal stakeholders to translate business needs into effective web solutions that align with organizational goals.<br>• Track, investigate, and resolve website issues using structured bug management and development practices.<br>• Participate in an Agile delivery environment, documenting progress and coordinating work through tools such as Jira.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in web development, including hands-on work with WordPress websites.<br>• Demonstrated ability to manage, configure, and maintain WordPress plugins in a production environment.<br>• Experience supporting user authentication or sign-in processes tied to organizational platforms or systems.<br>• Working knowledge of PHP for troubleshooting, customization, and website enhancement tasks.<br>• Familiarity with website analytics and the ability to assess user activity and site engagement trends.<br>• Experience with CMS platforms, backend development, and client-side scripting.<br>• Knowledge of Agile Scrum practices and exposure to issue tracking tools such as Atlassian Jira.<br>• Understanding of web technologies such as Ajax, APIs, testing approaches including A/B testing, and general bug tracking processes.
