Recruiter Job Description

A Recruiter is responsible for identifying, attracting, and screening qualified candidates to fill open positions within an organization. This role involves managing candidate pipelines, conducting initial interviews, coordinating with hiring managers, and ensuring a smooth progression through the hiring process. The Recruiter plays a key role in building a strong talent pool and contributing to the overall staffing needs. This position demands strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to candidate engagement. Typically, 1-3 years of experience in recruitment, HR, or a related administrative role is required. A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is essential. A solid understanding of Canadian fair hiring practices and basic employment laws is crucial.

Typical recruiter duties:

Manage candidate sourcing through various channels (job boards, social media, networking).Conduct initial phone screenings to assess candidate qualifications and fit.Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.Maintain and update candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).Build and nurture talent pipelines for future hiring needs.Assist with job posting creation and optimization.Communicate regularly with candidates, providing updates and feedback.Ensure all recruitment activities comply with Canadian employment equity guidelines.
