IT Business Intelligence Analyst Job Description

IT Business Intelligence Analysts maintain robust business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, and methods. In Canada, candidates need a strong background in database technology, ERP systems and processes, with an emphasis on analytical and reporting tools. They work closely with all levels of employees and must have excellent written and verbal communication, research, and analytic abilities to convert functional requirements into technical solutions. Expertise in BI, T-SQL, and SQL server, Online Analytical Processing (OLAP), and data cube technology are preferred. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering, as well as several years of experience in Canadian business intelligence reporting and analytics area.

Typical IT business intelligence analyst duties:

Designing and developing enterprise-wide data analysis and reporting solutions.Providing oversight of project plans, fulfillment of tasks, budgeting, and evaluating training and testing compliance.Analyzing data from multiple internal and external sources.Assuring the integrity of project data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing, and analysis.Communicating analysis results and making recommendations to senior management.
