A SOX auditor is responsible for evaluating and testing internal controls designed to support compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and related financial reporting requirements. These professionals assess business processes, review control activities and identify areas where organizations can strengthen governance, risk management and compliance efforts. As regulatory expectations continue to evolve and organizations face increased scrutiny over financial reporting, SOX auditors play an important role in supporting transparency, accountability and effective internal controls.SOX auditors work closely with accounting, finance, internal audit and compliance leaders to evaluate control environments and support remediation efforts when deficiencies are identified.
