Production Artist Job Description

Production artists help bring creative concepts to life. They collaborate closely with art directors, designers and developers to produce graphic collateral, packaging, display and advertising projects. Candidates for this role should be adept at using applications such as FlightCheck and Adobe Creative Suite. Strong typographic and layout skills, knowledge of printing processes and keen attention to detail are also essential for this position. Experience with digital content such as websites, social media, online advertising and email campaigns may be required, along with basic knowledge of HTML5 and JavaScript, Adobe After Effects, and web development software.

Typical production artist duties:

Handling preflight formatting of collateral and collecting, processing, checking and uploading filesPreparing final press-ready files based on supplied specificationsCreating PDFs for print and client review and conducting prepress checks
