Compliance Director Job Description

Compliance directors must have excellent auditing, statistical analysis and communication abilities. A minimum of five years of experience in accounting, auditing or compliance, as well as management, is required, and candidates need knowledge of federal and state compliance regulations. A bachelor’s degree is required, and an MBA is preferred. Experience working in a regulated business or industry is prized.

Typical compliance director duties:

Overseeing regulatory compliance for the organizationManaging compliance interactions and negotiations with regulatory agenciesProviding regulatory compliance guidance and policies to the organizationWriting, reviewing and evaluating necessary documentation to ensure full company complianceConducting audits of processes within all departmentsOverseeing new program development and revisions for complianceWorking with the controller and internal audit department to ensure internal control processes are documented and maintained
