Web designer job description

Must be proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Experience using programming languages such as HTML and JavaScript to create websites is required.

A degree in web design or a related field and experience in web development is typically required.

Typical duties of a web designer

  • Meeting with internal stakeholders or external clients to discuss objectives for websites and other online projects
  • Providing expert creative guidance on the overall look, feel and functionality of web design projects
  • Producing compelling artwork (including images, icons and banners) and layouts that are appealing and user friendly on mobile and desktop devices
  • Conducting user quality assurance (QA) work to identify possible problems before launch
