Robert Half are recruiting a Financial Controller on a permanent basis with a business based in Chippenham. This role would suit a qualified Finance Manager/Financial Controller seeking a role within an SME where they can add value. The role The Financial Controller will be pivotal in supporting the board and senior leadership team with all financial aspects of the business including managing cashflow, budgeting and supporting with growth. The role will involve but not be limited to:<ul><li>Preparing monthly management accounts.</li><li>Cashflow forecasting.</li><li>Partnering with non-finance stakeholders to manage payments and cashflow.</li><li>Managing 2 accounts clerks.</li><li>Presenting to the board.</li><li>Budgeting and forecasting.</li><li>Financial analysis.</li><li>Hedging.</li><li>Managing non-finance related issues to include general office management.</li></ul> ProfileThis role would suit a qualified accountant with previous experience of working in an owner managed business. The following skills/attributes would be advantageous:<ul><li>ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified with 3+ years PQE.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable with partnering with non-finance stakeholders and customers.</li><li>Experience of managing cashflow.</li><li>Experience of budgeting and forecasting.</li><li>Stable CV with 3-5 years within each business.</li></ul> Package<ul><li>£70,000-£80,000 base salary.</li><li>Bonus scheme.</li><li>Free onsite parking.</li><li>Hybrid working: 1-2 days from home.</li><li>25 days leave + bank holidays.</li><li>Wider perks and benefits.</li><li>A 4day working week (pro rata) could be considered.</li></ul>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions. This is a key hire for the business unit and plays a pivotal role in influencing revenues through financial analysis, internal stakeholder partnering and supplier / customer networking.This role will ideally suit someone that is qualified or pursuing a finance qualification - ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CA or equivalent, Is proficient technically, has advanced modelling / systems skills and has demonstratable experience of driving revenue and reducing cost in a fast paced, commercial environment.THE JOB ROLE:<ul><li>Lead Revenue Forecasting & Budgeting Coordinate and manage the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting cycle for revenue, partnering closely with the Commercial and Sales teams to ensure alignment with strategic goals and market realities.</li><li>Sales Pipeline Monitoring & Opportunity Review Collaborate closely with Sales and Commercial teams to monitor pipeline data through Salesforce. Analyse opportunities at various stages, challenge underlying assumptions, assess likelihood of conversion, and support revenue forecasting accuracy by ensuring robust opportunity tracking and commentary</li><li>KPI Development & Monitoring Build and maintain robust KPI dashboards that provide visibility into commercial performance metrics.</li><li>Key Account Financial Reviews Collaborate with Account Directors and Managers to conduct regular financial reviews of high-value clients, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance profitability and service performance.</li><li>Month-End Reporting & Analysis Assist in the preparation of the month-end reporting packs. This includes detailed variance analysis vs. budget and forecast and preparation of the Core Value Drivers.</li><li>Cross-Functional Business Partnering Act as a trusted advisor to the Chief Commercial Officer and Commercial leadership, proactively identifying financial risks and opportunities to support decision-making and strategic planning.</li><li>Ad-Hoc Financial Modelling & Scenario Planning Provide modelling support for new business opportunities, pricing proposals, commercial negotiations, and contract renewals.
