A Supply Chain Analyst/Specialist supports supply chain planning, procurement activities, inventory management and material flow to help organizations maintain efficient operations and meet business objectives. They analyze supply chain data, coordinate purchasing activities, monitor inventory levels, assess demand, manage supplier activities and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, availability and supply chain performance.Working closely with procurement teams, suppliers, operations, manufacturing, engineering, finance and business stakeholders, Supply Chain Analysts/Specialists help optimize supply networks, reduce supply risks and support effective supply chain execution.

Typical supply chain analyst/specialist duties:

Support supply chain planning, purchasing and material management activities to help maintain consistent product and material availability.Analyze inventory levels, demand requirements, production schedules and supply data to identify shortages, risks and opportunities for improvement.Coordinate procurement activities, including purchase order management, supplier communication and follow-up on material requirements.Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines and supply chain risks to support cost, quality and on-time delivery objectives.Develop and maintain supply chain reports, dashboards and performance metrics using analytical tools such as Excel, Power BI or similar reporting platforms.Analyze supply chain data and trends to support forecasting, planning decisions and operational improvements.Collaborate with procurement, operations, manufacturing, engineering, quality and finance teams to align supply chain activities with business requirements.SupportSAP and material requirements planning (MRP) systems to maintain accurate inventory, purchasing and supply chain information.Assist with supplier sourcing activities, vendor management and evaluation processes to improve supply chain reliability.Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes, reduce inefficiencies and strengthen planning accuracy.Support compliance with organizational procurement policies, industry standards and applicable supply chain requirements.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, supplier performance and overall supply chain effectiveness.
