The Specialist acts as a subject matter expert, resolving complex operational issues, ensuring data integrity, and often guiding junior team members. They ensure compliance with fund mandates and regulatory requirements. This position demands strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and deep knowledge of investment products and fund structures. Typically, 3-6 years of progressive experience in fund operations, investment accounting, or back-office financial services is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is essential, with relevant industry certifications (e.g., CSC) preferred. Familiarity with Canadian investment regulations is crucial.

Typical senior fund operations specialist duties:

Oversee daily operational activities for investment funds, including trade processing and settlements.Perform complex reconciliations of cash, positions, and trades.Investigate and resolve operational discrepancies and exceptions promptly.Ensure accurate and timely fund valuations and net asset value (NAV) calculations.Prepare and review fund-related reports for internal and external stakeholders.Act as a point of contact for inquiries from portfolio managers, custodians, and clients.Assist in onboarding new funds or complex investment products.Provide guidance and support to junior Fund Operations Specialists.
