This role analyzes workflows, gathers requirements for system enhancements, and collaborates with IT and finance to deliver effective solutions. The Business Systems Analyst ensures accounting systems are efficient, accurate, and compliant. Candidates need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of both accounting principles and systems. A Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems is essential, with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or relevant IT certification preferred. Deep understanding of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS) and corporate financial systems is paramount.

Typical business systems analyst - corporate accounting duties:

Analyze and document current corporate accounting business processes.Elicit, document, and prioritize requirements for system improvements.Act as a liaison between corporate accounting and IT teams.Design and configure accounting system modules (e.g., ERP, GL, AP, AR) to meet business needs.Develop test plans, conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), and manage system go-lives.Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and training for accounting system users.Ensure system changes comply with internal controls, policies, and Canadian regulatory requirements.Contribute to process optimization, automation, and data integrity within corporate accounting.
