Account Manager Job Description

An Account Manager is the primary liaison between a creative agency or marketing firm and its clients. This role is crucial for nurturing and expanding client relationships, ensuring a deep understanding of their business objectives, and translating those needs into clear and actionable creative strategies for internal teams. The Account Manager is a strategic partner to the client and a project leader internally, responsible for managing projects from initial concept through to final delivery, on time and on budget. Candidates must possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to build trust and long-lasting partnerships. Typically, 3-5 years of experience in account management within the marketing, advertising, or creative fields is required. Experience cultivating relationships with Canadian clients across diverse industries and markets is a key asset.

Typical Account Manager Duties:

Serve as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, understanding their brand, industry, and strategic goals.Develop comprehensive creative briefs and project scopes by gathering and interpreting client requirements.Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation in collaboration with creative, production, and digital teams.Present creative work and campaign results to clients, articulating the value and strategic rationale behind the deliverables.Act as a client advocate within the organization, ensuring their needs and feedback are addressed effectively.Monitor and report on project performance and client satisfaction, proactively identifying opportunities for account growth.Forecast project revenue and manage invoicing, ensuring financial targets are met.
