Senior Financial Analyst
<p>This role is integral to providing analytical support to our top management, assisting in strategic decision-making through robust budgeting and disciplined expense control. The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in financial analysis, an understanding of accounting standards, and strong communication skills.<br /><br /><strong>Reporting:</strong><br />Report to FPA manager<br /><br /><strong>Working place:</strong><br />Tokyo, Japan<br /><br /><strong>Main Responsibilities:</strong><br />Controlling & Reporting<br />Validate and analyze Sales and Margin, provide effective analysis to drive business growth.<br />Monitor and analyze sales discount & returns and provide alerts to Retail managers to maintain/improve the gross margin.<br />Review and validate sales return risk & inventory quality and provide best estimate for provisions<br />Deliver regular financial reports with precision and timeliness (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly).<br />Address ad-hoc requests from both local teams and HQ with agility and accuracy.<br />Contribute to monthly P&L analysis reports for headquarters.<br />Lead reporting for the business unit, including participation in strategy meetings, preparation of P&L reports, budget files, as well as providing additional analytical support.<br /><br />Planning & Forecasting Coordination<br />Oversee the planning process regarding sales forecasts, gross margin projections, inventory levels, purchasing plans - from initial budgets to revised estimates.<br />Assist in crafting comprehensive P&L statements along with presentation materials for management review.<br />Internal Control<br />Coordinate quarterly stock takes and monitor their execution.<br />Supervise retail operation processes to ensure compliance with internal controls.<br />Implement effective internal control measures within assigned areas of responsibility.<br />Project Support<br />Establish solid relationships with Retail Managers; provide financial insights that facilitate operational agility aimed at fostering growth.<br />Actively participate in IT system upgrades (e.g., SAP) or other relevant projects.<br /><br />Profile<br />Candidate Requirements<br />Bachelor's degree in Business Finance or Accounting preferred.<br />Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English (both written and spoken).<br />Experience in a complex environment (e.g., multiple legal entities/ multiple reporting lines) preferred.<br />Technical Skills & Personal Attributes<br />Robust analytical abilities coupled with problem-solving acumen.<br />Proficiency in IT applications like Excel, PowerPoint, SAP BW; commitment to driving continuous improvements using these tools.<br />Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and standards.<br />Skilled at creating corporate-standard business presentations<br />Exceptional work ethic; adaptable; embraces a "can do" outlook and solutions-oriented mentality.<br />Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal communication skills.<br />Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently without sacrificing urgency or attention to detail.<br />Resilient under pressure; maintains high standards even when facing tight deadlines.<br />Pragmatic commercial sensibility that transcends theoretical approaches.<br />Self-motivated initiator eager to take on challenges.</p><p> </p><p>Salary: 4000 - 6000 per hour</p><p>Location: Tokyo, Japan</p><p>Reference Number: 06940-0013234088</p><p><em>By clicking 'apply', you give your express consent that Robert Half may use your personal information to process your job application and to contact you from time to time for future employment opportunities.
