HR Manager
<p><strong>Company Profile</strong></p><p>An international luxury goods house with a strong craftsmanship heritage is expanding its Japan organization and looking for its first dedicated HR Manager. The company operates a Tokyo flagship, its own production and logistics sites in Japan, and is in a clear growth phase with further openings planned.</p><p> </p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><ul><li>This is a newly created, standalone position. You will build and own the full HR function for an organization of around 35 people across four locations, with headcount expected to grow significantly over the next two years.</li><li>Your scope covers the complete generalist range: labor law compliance, payroll and benefits coordination with external partners such as a sharoushi and tax advisors, employee relations, leave management, and HR records.</li><li>A core project is localizing global HR policies so they are fully compliant with Japanese labor law and genuinely fit Japanese workplace culture.</li><li>You will support two very different employee populations, a Tokyo-based retail and office team and skilled production craftsmen at regional sites, and be a trusted contact for both.</li><li>You will work closely with the global HR organization (US headquarters and a European counterpart), with regular morning calls once or twice a week. No late-evening meetings.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Your Skills </strong></p><ul><li>Native-level Japanese is essential, as you will draft labor documentation, manage work rules, and coordinate with a sharoushi entirely in Japanese.
