Company Profile Frontier AI research company building large-scale compute infrastructure to train and serve cutting-edge AI models is looking for a Data Center Electrical Engineer to support its rapidly expanding APAC data center portfolio. The Role <ul><li>Lead electrical design across the APAC data center portfolio, owning the architecture from utility service entrance through to the rack, including MV infrastructure, generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, and earthing/grounding systems.</li><li>Develop and maintain the company's electrical basis of design, reference architectures, and technical specifications; review submittals and shop drawings from build partners and MEP consultants.</li><li>Perform and validate engineering studies (short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, load flow, power quality) to steer design decisions and equipment selection.</li><li>Act as on-the-ground electrical subject-matter expert with local utilities, agencies having jurisdiction, vendors, and contractors across Japan, Korea, and the broader APAC region including Australia.</li><li>Support delivery, construction, and commissioning - coordinating implementation with vendors and contractors, resolving field engineering issues, and traveling to sites for design review, audits, and startup support.</li></ul> Your Skills <ul><li>Fluent Japanese (required) with business-level English; able to interpret Japanese technical documentation and communicate with local utilities and authorities.</li><li>10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, with substantial data center or high-availability electrical distribution design experience across the full project lifecycle.</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or related field; PE/Chartered Engineer licensure valued but not required.</li><li>Fluent in power systems analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower, and comfortable with critical power topologies (2N, N+1, distributed redundant, block redundant).</li><li>Familiarity with data center design conventions and regulatory/code regimes across Japan, Korea, and APAC, and comfortable designing to IEC standards.</li></ul> Key Highlights of the Role <ul><li>Lead electrical design for some of the largest accelerator clusters in the industry, at the frontier of AI infrastructure.</li><li>Own architecture decisions across a rapidly expanding APAC portfolio, from concept through commissioning.</li><li>Highly cross-functional role working directly with hardware, compute, and supply chain teams.</li><li>Compensation includes base salary from 35-44 Million JPY plus significant equity (up to 151 Million JPY annual package equivalent after 4 years).</li></ul> Location Tokyo Salary 35 - 44 million yen Reference Number: 06940-0013483958 <img src="https://counter.adcourier.com/U21haWwuU2FmaS43MDk5OC4xMDg5OEByaGlqcC5hcGxpdHJhay5jb20.gif">
