The successful candidate will take ownership of day-to-day finance operations, support strategic growth, and partner with operational leaders to deliver insight and maintain robust financial control across the UK business.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead all accounting and finance operations, ensuring robust revenue recognition, cost of sales accounting, and accuracy of P&L and balance sheet reporting.</li><li>Own the monthly close process, preparation of statutory accounts, and support the external audit process.</li><li>Oversee management reporting, budgeting,forecasting, aligning operational performance with strategic financial plans.</li><li>Design, strengthen, and implement internal controls and process improvements as the company scales.</li><li>Work closely with senior leadership and operations managers to model and analyse profit margins by depot, job type, and region.</li><li>Manage relationships with external accountants, outsourced payroll providers, and tax compliance partners.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all UK regulatory requirements, support finance projects and business improvement initiatives as needed.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Ideal Candidate: </strong></p><ul><li>ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified</li><li>Experience as a Financial Controller in a UK construction SME.</li><li>Proven track record in month end reporting, audit, and hands on process improvement.</li><li>Exceptional communication skills with the ability to partner cross functionally.</li><li>Able to thrive in a dynamic SME environment, flexible, pragmatic, and delivery oriented.</li></ul><br><br><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
