The operational Management Accountant will be responsible for:Stock & Inventory Management (Integrated with Reporting)<ul><li>Valuation & Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations between the Inventory Sub-ledger and the General Ledger.</li><li>Margin Integrity: Investigate discrepancies between theoretical and actual margins, focusing on stock waste, scrap, and re-work costs.</li><li>Provisioning: Present monthly reports on stock to the Senior Management Team</li></ul> System and Process Improvements<ul><li>Reporting Automation: Transition manual monthly reporting into automated BI tools or ERP dashboards to reduce the month-end cycle time.</li><li>Data Integrity: Audit the flow of data from warehouse into the management accounts to ensure "one version of the truth."</li></ul>Monthly Management Reporting<ul><li>Month-End Close: Lead the month-end process for the manufacturing entity, ensuring all journals, accruals, and prepayments are posted accurately and on time.</li><li>Financial Reporting: Prepare the monthly Management Accounts pack, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.</li><li>Variance Analysis: Provide high-level commentary on actual vs. budget performance, specifically highlighting gross margin fluctuations driven by production costs or inventory movements.</li><li>KPI Development: Define and track operational KPIs (e.g., Gross Margin by product line, Labour Recovery rates, and Stock Turnover).</li></ul>Budgeting & Forecasting<ul><li>Operational Budgeting: Partner with Production and Warehouse Managers to build annual budgets and quarterly rolling forecasts.</li><li>Cash Flow Management: Forecast inventory spend and lead times to ensure optimal working capital levels.</li></ul> Refined Skills & Qualifications<ul><li>Experience: Strong background in Operational Accounts within a manufacturing or recycling organisation.</li><li>Commercial Acumen: Ability to explain the "why" behind the numbers to the Department Heads.</li><li>Technical: Proficiency in advanced Excel for data visualization of monthly trends and a desire to improve and automate systems.</li></ul> On offer: Salary to £55,000 plus PHI and pensionRobert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
