Robert Half has partnered with a distribution business in the North West of England to recruit for an Accounts Payable Assistant (Supplier Queries).About the RoleOur client, a well-established distribution business, is looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their busy finance team, with a focus on resolving supplier queries. Working closely with Finance, IT, Data, and senior stakeholders, you will help deliver scalable, efficient, and data-driven planning processes supported by new systems and technologies.<h3 id="key-responsibilities">Key responsibilities:</h3><ul><li>Define the global target operating model for budgeting and forecasting</li><li>Design standardised end-to-end planning processes across business units</li><li>Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve planning activity</li><li>Partner with Finance, IT, Data, and implementation teams to align process and system design</li><li>Ensure alignment across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and consolidation</li><li>Own global process standards, governance, and documentation</li><li>Support training, communication, adoption, and transition to business-as-usual</li></ul><h3 id="key-requirements">Key requirements:</h3><ul><li>Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)</li><li>Strong experience leading budgeting and forecasting transformation in a large global organisation</li><li>Deep understanding of FP&A processes including budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, scenario planning, and driver-based planning</li><li>Experience in finance transformation and ERP/EPM implementation programmes</li><li>Strong stakeholder management and senior executive engagement experience</li><li>Knowledge of systems such as D365, OneStream, IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), or Workday Adaptive Planning</li></ul>This is an excellent opportunity to join a global business with a strong collaborative culture and a major transformation agenda.
