This position is ideally suited to someone who is confident managing a varied portfolio of tax clients, building client relationships and contributing to a small, close-knit team.The firm works with a broad range of owner-managed businesses, including solicitor firms and FCA-regulated organisations, providing high-quality tax, accounts and advisory services.The RoleWorking closely with the Directors, you will take responsibility for managing a varied portfolio of tax clients, providing high-quality tax compliance and advisory support while building strong client relationships.The role will offer exposure to a varied client portfolio including:<ul data-spread="false"><li>Personal and corporate tax</li><li>Self-assessment tax returns</li><li>Corporation tax returns</li><li>Tax computations</li><li>Tax planning and advisory work</li><li>Owner-managed businesses across a range of sectors</li><li>Supporting clients with general tax queries and advice</li></ul>Your responsibilities will include:<ul data-spread="false"><li>Preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns.</li><li>Preparing tax computations and supporting documentation.</li><li>Managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring deadlines are met.</li><li>Providing clients with day-to-day tax advice and support.</li><li>Identifying tax planning opportunities and assisting with advisory work.</li><li>Working closely with the Accounts team to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of client work.</li><li>Supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members where appropriate.</li><li>Supporting and mentoring trainees and apprentices.</li><li>Working closely with Managers and Directors to deliver a high-quality client service.</li></ul><h2>About You</h2>To be successful, you will:<ul data-spread="false"><li>Be ACA or ACCA qualified, recently qualified, or a strong Qualified by Experience (QBE) candidate.</li><li>Have a background within UK accountancy practice.</li><li>Have solid UK tax experience and be capable of managing a portfolio of clients independently.</li><li>Be confident preparing personal and corporate tax returns with minimal supervision.</li><li>Enjoy working directly with clients and developing long-term professional relationships.</li></ul><h2>What's on Offer?</h2><ul data-spread="false"><li>Salary of £40,000 - £50,000, depending on experience.</li><li>35-hour working week.</li><li>Monday to Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm.</li><li>Friday finish at 4:00pm.</li><li>25 days' annual leave plus Bank Holidays.</li><li>People's Pension.</li><li>Full study support for ACA/ACCA students where applicable, including tuition fees and study leave for first exam attempts.</li><li>Long-term career progression within a well-established and growing practice.</li><li>Modern offices in a convenient location close to public transport.</li></ul><h2>About the Firm</h2>The practice has built an excellent reputation through long-standing client relationships and continued growth.
