This role will focus on managing a portfolio of overdue and defaulted accounts, delivering effective recovery solutions while maintaining a customer-focused approach.</p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on collections or recovery professional who can quickly integrate into a busy team and make an immediate impact.</p><br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br><ul><li>Manage a portfolio of overdue, delinquent and defaulted accounts.</li><li>Proactively contact customers to discuss outstanding balances and agree appropriate repayment solutions.</li><li>Negotiate payment plans, settlements and recovery strategies.</li><li>Assess individual customer circumstances and determine the most appropriate course of action.</li><li>Work closely with internal stakeholders and external third parties to progress recovery activities.</li><li>Support litigation, insolvency and other complex recovery processes where required.</li><li>Maintain accurate and detailed records of all customer interactions and case activity.</li><li>Ensure all activity is conducted in line with relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve recovery processes and operational efficiency.</li></ul><br><br>About You<br><br><ul><li>Previous experience within debt recovery, collections, credit control or arrears management.</li><li>Strong negotiation and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to manage challenging conversations professionally and effectively.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.</li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing a varied caseload.</li><li>Strong IT and systems skills.</li><li>Experience within a regulated financial services environment is advantageous but not essential.</li></ul><br><br>What's on Offer<br><br><ul><li>Initial 3-month interim assignment with potential for extension.</li><li>Immediate start available.</li><li>Opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team.</li><li>Varied workload with autonomy and responsibility from day one.</li><li>Basingstoke-based office location.</li></ul><p><strong>Suitable for candidates from debt recovery, collections, arrears management, financial services collections, commercial recoveries or credit control backgrounds.</strong></p><br><p> </p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.   • <h1>Accounts Payable Manager</h1><p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>6 Month Fixed-Term Contract</strong></p><p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Location:</strong> Surbiton (Hybrid - 2 days office, 3 days home)</p><p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Salary:</strong> £60,000-£70,000</p><h2>The Opportunity</h2><p class="isSelectedEnd">An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced <strong>Accounts Payable Manager</strong> to join a growing international business during a significant period of transformation.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">This role has a clear mandate to stabilise, improve and lead the Accounts Payable function across a complex multi-entity, multi-currency environment. You'll be responsible for driving team performance, strengthening controls, embedding accountability and delivering sustainable process improvements, while supporting ongoing automation and systems initiatives.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">Managing a team of 12, you'll work closely with stakeholders across 25 international locations, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, change-focused environment.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul data-spread="false"><li>Lead, coach and develop the Accounts Payable team, creating a high-performing culture.</li><li>Manage two Team Leaders and support the wider AP function through change.</li><li>Introduce and monitor KPIs to improve service levels, accountability and performance.</li><li>Ensure invoices and supplier payments are processed accurately and on time.</li><li>Review aged creditors, parked invoices and outstanding exceptions, driving timely resolution.</li><li>Strengthen financial controls, governance and compliance across the AP process.</li><li>Standardise purchase order and invoice processes across multiple entities and regions.</li><li>Lead continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for automation and reducing manual processes.</li><li>Work collaboratively with finance and operational stakeholders to resolve root causes and implement long-term solutions.</li></ul><h2>About You</h2><p class="isSelectedEnd">You'll bring proven experience leading an Accounts Payable function, ideally within a shared services or international business environment.
