- <p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Cost Accountant (6-Month Temp Contract / FTC)</strong><br /><strong>Location:</strong> Saffron Walden (Hybrid - circa 2 days per month onsite, remainder remote)<br /><strong>Salary:</strong> Equivalent to £55,000-£60,000 FTE (or competitive day rate)<br /><strong>Start Date:</strong> ASAP</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a <strong>long standing client</strong> in Saffron Walden to recruit an experienced <strong>Cost Accountant</strong> for an initial <strong>6-month temporary contract</strong>. This opportunity has arisen to provide cover for an internal secondment and offers a flexible hybrid working model with limited onsite presence required.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional with strong <strong>cost accounting experience</strong> who enjoys partnering with operational stakeholders and supporting business performance through high-quality reporting and analysis.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul data-spread="false"><li>Preparation of monthly <strong>management accounts</strong> and associated reporting packs</li><li>Business partnering with heads of internal cost centres to review spend, variances, and performance</li><li>Ownership of cost centre reporting and analysis</li><li>Supporting <strong>project costing</strong> activity, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of project spend</li><li>Involvement in the <strong>biannual forecasting</strong> process</li><li>Delivery of ad hoc analysis, reporting requests, and finance improvement projects</li><li>Supporting wider finance team priorities during the contract period</li></ul><h3>Candidate Profile</h3><ul data-spread="false"><li>Strong, demonstrable experience in <strong>cost accounting</strong> is essential</li><li>Open to <strong>QBE, part-qualified, or fully qualified</strong> candidates (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)</li><li>Previous experience producing management accounts and partnering with non-finance stakeholders</li><li>Strong analytical skills with attention to detail</li><li>Able to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Strong Excel and systems experience</li></ul><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
