The business delivers complex, high-value projects nationwide and is recognised for its long-term frameworks, in-house expertise and strong leadership culture.</p><p data-end="536" data-start="256">This role offers the chance to join a sizeable, privately owned organisation with a strong order book and long-term project pipeline. You will gain exposure to senior leadership, play a central role in financial governance, and have scope to further develop both your technical and leadership capabilities.</p><h2 data-end="554" data-start="543">The Role</h2><p data-end="766" data-start="556">As Group Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of financial reporting and compliance across the group structure. This is a hands-on, technically focused position with genuine visibility at senior level.</p><p data-start="768" data-end="1075">You will oversee statutory reporting, lead the audit process, ensure tax compliance and maintain strong financial controls across multiple entities. Alongside core reporting responsibilities, you will partner with operational leaders to support sound financial governance and continuous process improvement.</p><p data-start="1077" data-end="1278">This opportunity would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys technical accounting, thrives in a structured yet evolving environment, and wants to contribute to a sizeable, project-driven organisation.</p><h2 data-start="1077" data-end="1278">Key Responsibilities:</h2><ul><li>Lead the production of statutory financial statements across group entities</li><li>Ensure full compliance with UK financial reporting and tax regulations</li><li>Oversee Corporation Tax processes and work closely with external advisors</li><li>Manage indirect tax and statutory submissions </li><li>Act as the primary contact for external auditors, coordinating the year-end audit process</li><li>Maintain oversight of general ledger activity across the group</li><li>Drive consistency in accounting treatments and chart of accounts structure</li><li>Manage the month-end close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting</li><li>Prepare consolidated financial statements including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow</li><li>Review balance sheet reconciliations and inter-company balances</li><li>Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to enhance financial processes</li><li>Provide guidance and oversight to members of the finance team</li><li>Support senior finance colleagues as required</li><li>Lead the annual R&D tax credit submission process in collaboration with operational stakeholders and advisors</li><li>Build effective relationships with senior non-financial managers, offering technical insight and financial clarity</li></ul><h2 data-end="2702" data-start="2690">Candidate Profile: </h2><ul><li>Fully qualified ACA or ACCA</li><li>Strong grounding in financial accounting and statutory reporting</li><li>Experience overseeing audits and corporate tax processes</li><li>Confident managing or mentoring finance team members</li><li>Strong Excel capability and analytical mindset</li><li>Familiarity with ERP systems used in project-led organisations.</li></ul><h2 data-start="3118" data-end="3136">What's on Offer</h2><ul data-end="3464" data-start="3138"><li data-end="3173" data-start="3138"><p data-end="3173" data-start="3140">£55,000 - £65,000 plus additional benefits</p></li></ul><p data-start="3189" data-end="3495"> </p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
