You'll join an accounts team of five and take responsibility for two direct reports, giving you the opportunity to combine hands-on accounting with team leadership, commercial partnering and process improvement.</p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>As Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of the monthly management accounting process and play an important role in providing accurate financial information and commercial insight to the wider business.</p><p>Your responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Producing end-to-end monthly management accounts, ensuring completion within one week of month end</li><li>Preparing and distributing associated financial reporting in a timely manner</li><li>Ensuring all balance sheet and control accounts are fully reconciled each month, including intercompany accounts</li><li>Investigating and resolving variances promptly</li><li>Working closely with departments across the business to track expenditure against budget and forecast</li><li>Business partnering with operational managers to understand financial trends and support effective cost control</li><li>Providing meaningful financial insight to support business decisions, development and profitability</li><li>Supporting the development and automation of regular reporting</li><li>Producing and monitoring KPI reporting</li><li>Supporting group reporting requirements for the parent company</li><li>Managing and developing two direct reports</li><li>Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting</li></ul><p><strong>About You</strong></p><p>We're looking for an experienced <strong>Management Accountant or Finance Manager</strong> who is comfortable working in an SME environment and has experience supervising or managing a small team.</p><p>You'll ideally have experience within a <strong>manufacturing, product-based or supplier environment</strong>, although this isn't essential.</p><p>You'll also bring:</p><ul><li>Strong management accounting experience</li><li>Previous experience supervising or managing a small finance team</li><li>Excellent attention to detail</li><li>Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines</li><li>Good Microsoft Office/Excel skills</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>A collaborative, team-focused approach</li><li>A positive, hands-on <strong>"can do"</strong> attitude</li><li>The confidence to work with stakeholders across the wider business</li><li>A commercially minded approach to finance</li></ul><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
