<p>Robert Half Talent Solutions are seeking an Operational & Management Accountant to join a SME manufacturing organisation near Llanelli.</p><p> </p><p>The operational Management Accountant will be responsible for:</p><p><strong>Stock & Inventory Management</strong> (Integrated with Reporting)</p><ul><li><strong>Valuation & Reconciliation:</strong> Perform monthly reconciliations between the <strong>Inventory Sub-ledger</strong> and the <strong>General Ledger</strong>.</li><li><strong>Margin Integrity:</strong> Investigate discrepancies between theoretical and actual margins, focusing on stock waste, scrap, and re-work costs.</li><li><strong>Provisioning:</strong> Present monthly reports on stock to the Senior Management Team</li></ul><p><strong> System and Process Improvements</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Reporting Automation:</strong> Transition manual monthly reporting into automated <strong>BI tools or ERP dashboards</strong> to reduce the month-end cycle time.</li><li><strong>Data Integrity:</strong> Audit the flow of data from warehouse into the management accounts to ensure "one version of the truth."</li></ul><p><strong>Monthly Management Reporting</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Month-End Close:</strong> Lead the month-end process for the manufacturing entity, ensuring all journals, accruals, and prepayments are posted accurately and on time.</li><li><strong>Financial Reporting:</strong> Prepare the monthly <strong>Management Accounts pack</strong>, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.</li><li><strong>Variance Analysis:</strong> Provide high-level commentary on actual vs. budget performance, specifically highlighting <strong>gross margin fluctuations</strong> driven by production costs or inventory movements.</li><li><strong>KPI Development:</strong> Define and track operational KPIs (e.g., Gross Margin by product line, Labour Recovery rates, and Stock Turnover).</li></ul><p><strong>Budgeting & Forecasting</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Operational Budgeting:</strong> Partner with Production and Warehouse Managers to build annual budgets and quarterly rolling forecasts.</li><li><strong>Cash Flow Management:</strong> Forecast inventory spend and lead times to ensure optimal working capital levels.</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Refined Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Experience:</strong> Strong background in <strong>Operational Accounts</strong> within a manufacturing or recycling organisation.</li><li><strong>Commercial Acumen:</strong> Ability to explain the "why" behind the numbers to the Department Heads.</li><li><strong>Technical:</strong> Proficiency in <strong> advanced Excel</strong> for data visualization of monthly trends and a desire to improve and automate systems.</li></ul><p> </p><p>On offer: Salary to £55,000 plus PHI and pension</p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
