<h1>Birmingham City Centre, Up to £36k Plus benefits and Hybrid working </h1><h1>Client Accountant</h1>We are recruiting for a Client Accountant to join an established property and asset services organisation. You'll manage accounting across a dedicated property portfolio, working closely with clients and internal teams to deliver accurate and timely financial services.<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><h3>Client Accounting</h3><ul data-spread="false"><li>Manage client and property trial balances.</li><li>Prepare client and management reports.</li><li>Handle service charge and rent accounting.</li><li>Reconcile cash, invoices, and client accounts.</li><li>Resolve accounting and client queries.</li><li>Maintain accurate financial records and systems.</li><li>Manage service charge year-end reconciliations.</li><li>Prepare completion statements and funding requests.</li><li>Ensure client income is paid accurately and on time.</li><li>Support client audits and financial reviews.</li><li>Lead client calls and manage external stakeholders.</li><li>Support onboarding and offboarding of properties and clients.</li><li>Assist with coaching junior accounting team members.</li></ul><h3>Operations & Risk</h3><ul data-spread="false"><li>Follow internal procedures, RICS guidelines, and client money regulations.</li><li>Review outputs from internal and offshore teams.</li><li>Identify and escalate financial risks and issues.</li><li>Maintain accurate compliance and reporting records.</li></ul><h3>Systems</h3><ul data-spread="false"><li>Use property management and accounting systems.</li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date system records.</li><li>Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required.</li></ul><h2>Knowledge & Experience</h2><ul data-spread="false"><li>2-3 years' property or client accounting experience.</li><li>Understanding of service charges, rent, and client money.</li><li>Experience with property management systems.</li><li>PM&A Tramps experience desirable.</li><li>Knowledge of RICS/client money regulations desirable.</li></ul><h2>Skills & Attributes</h2><ul data-spread="false"><li>Strong attention to detail.</li><li>Excellent communication skills.</li><li>Organised and deadline-focused.</li><li>Proactive and able to take ownership.</li><li>Strong team player with a willingness to develop.</li></ul><h2>The Opportunity</h2>An excellent opportunity for a Client Accountant or Property Accountant to join an established organisation, manage a varied portfolio, and develop their client and technical accounting experience.Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
