This is a role where you will be expected to get under the skin of the numbers, challenge the business and turn complex information into clear recommendations that senior stakeholders can act upon.</p><p data-start="1051" data-end="1063"><strong data-start="1051" data-end="1063">The Role</strong></p><p data-end="1148" data-start="1065">You will take ownership of key financial activities across the business, including:</p><ul data-start="1150" data-end="2224"><li data-start="1150" data-section-id="owdfnn" data-end="1223">Business partnering with senior operational and technical stakeholders.</li><li data-end="1313" data-section-id="7bo26h" data-start="1224">Taking ownership of project cost control, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.</li><li data-section-id="1j5pfgp" data-start="1314" data-end="1387">Producing accurate and timely weekly forecasts and financial reporting.</li><li data-section-id="5jq16s" data-start="1388" data-end="1461">Identifying overspends, risks, opportunities and key financial drivers.</li><li data-start="1462" data-section-id="13vsa8p" data-end="1543">Developing complex financial models to provide accurate and meaningful insight.</li><li data-section-id="dpiiwg" data-start="1544" data-end="1661">Presenting financial information and recommendations to senior stakeholders in a clear, concise and compelling way.</li><li data-start="1662" data-section-id="2ssz7t" data-end="1748">Building and costing business cases to support commercial and operational decisions.</li><li data-end="1856" data-start="1749" data-section-id="erq019">Working with large volumes of financial and operational data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.</li><li data-section-id="17yli29" data-start="1857" data-end="1926">Supporting complex financial and regulatory reporting requirements.</li><li data-start="1927" data-section-id="1ounftn" data-end="2012">Driving automation and continuous improvement across financial reporting processes.</li><li data-end="2104" data-start="2013" data-section-id="1k6nxyl">Using systems and tools including SAP, Power Query, Power BI, Alteryx and advanced Excel.</li><li data-end="2224" data-start="2105" data-section-id="1utlcke">Taking ownership of projects from initial scope through to delivery and ensuring agreed actions are followed through.</li></ul><p data-start="2226" data-end="2239"><strong data-start="2226" data-end="2239">About You</strong></p><p data-start="2241" data-end="2371">We are looking for a qualified accountant who is technically strong, commercially minded and genuinely enjoys business partnering.</p><ul data-end="3274" data-start="2397"><li data-end="2597" data-section-id="todquy" data-start="2511">Strong experience across budgeting, forecasting, cost control and variance analysis.</li><li data-end="2673" data-start="2598" data-section-id="1g66hm1">Experience working with complex financial information and large datasets.</li><li data-end="2770" data-start="2674" data-section-id="1uiyh2w">Excellent Excel skills, with Power Query, Power BI, or similar tools highly desirable.</li><li data-end="2900" data-start="2771" data-section-id="1pn5uwu">Experience within manufacturing, engineering, R&D, automotive or another technically complex environment would be advantageous.</li><li data-section-id="1945ihj" data-start="2901" data-end="3009">The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and communicate complex financial information effectively.</li><li data-end="3057" data-start="3010" data-section-id="7oreyc">Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li data-start="3058" data-section-id="ok5lng" data-end="3180">Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.</li><li data-end="3274" data-section-id="33sywh" data-start="3181">A proactive, accountable approach and the ability to take ownership and deliver end-to-end.</li></ul><p data-end="3290" data-start="3276"> </p><p data-start="4939" data-end="5231"> </p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
