We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead a small technical team and oversee IT infrastructure, systems and support services across a multi-site organisation. This is a permanent role paying up to £63,500 plus company car, with hybrid working after successful completion of probation.This is a hands-on leadership role, combining day-to-day operational responsibility with project delivery, team development and continuous improvement. You will work closely with business systems colleagues to ensure technology supports business performance, security and efficiency.Key Responsibilities<ul data-spread="false"><li>Lead, mentor and develop the internal IT team, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.</li><li>Oversee IT support, service desk operations and service level agreements.</li><li>Manage IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, applications, devices and communications.</li><li>Plan and deliver IT projects, managing resources, budgets, suppliers and timescales.</li><li>Support IT strategy, technology improvements and business transformation initiatives.</li><li>Maintain cyber security, data protection, system updates and IT governance.</li><li>Develop and test business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements.</li><li>Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting when required</li></ul>About You<ul data-spread="false"><li>Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, Active Directory, SharePoint Online and SQL Server.</li><li>Good understanding of networking, storage, virtualisation and remote desktop technologies.</li><li>Knowledge of cyber security, GDPR and IT governance.</li><li>Proven IT project management and service delivery experience.</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.</li><li>A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on ownership and continuous improvement.</li></ul>On Offer<ul><li>Salary up to £63,500</li><li>Company car</li><li>Hybrid working - 3 days a week in Melksham</li><li>Competitive benefits</li></ul>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions. <h3>The Opportunity</h3>Robert half are working with an established organisation who are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of commercial installation projects across the UK.This is a varied, hands-on position where you will manage projects from initial order through to installation and final handover. You'll combine office-based project management with regular site visits, working closely with subcontractors, main contractors, site teams, clients and suppliers.This would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, solving problems and being close to the operational delivery rather than managing everything remotely.<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Manage multiple projects simultaneously from order through to completion.</li><li>Coordinate drawings, specifications, materials, deliveries and installation programmes.</li><li>Organise and manage subcontract installation teams.</li><li>Attend sites regularly to monitor progress, quality and programme.</li><li>Build strong relationships with main contractors, site managers, clients and suppliers.</li><li>Monitor project costs and maintain commercial awareness throughout delivery.</li><li>Manage project variations and ensure changes are communicated effectively.</li><li>Oversee snagging and final project handover.</li><li>Identify potential issues early and take ownership of resolving them.</li><li>Maintain accurate project records and provide clear updates to customers and stakeholders.</li><li>Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standard.</li></ul><h3>About You</h3>We're looking for a proactive and organised Project Manager who is comfortable taking responsibility for multiple projects.Ideally, you will have:<ul><li>Previous Project Management experience within construction, fit-out, interiors, commercial installations, blinds, curtains, soft furnishings or a related sector.</li><li>Experience managing subcontractors, installers or site-based teams.</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.</li><li>Confidence communicating with main contractors, site managers and clients.</li><li>A practical, solutions-focused approach to project delivery.</li><li>Good commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs.</li><li>The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation.</li><li>Confidence working across both office and construction site environments.</li><li>A full UK driving licence.</li><li>Flexibility to travel to project sites across the UK.</li></ul>Previous experience within commercial blinds, curtains, motorisation or window furnishings would be highly desirable, although it is not essential.<h3>The Person</h3>This role requires someone who takes ownership.You'll need to be comfortable getting involved in the detail, visiting sites, managing installers and subcontractors, resolving issues and ensuring projects continue to move forward.You'll be given responsibility for your projects and will need the confidence to make decisions, communicate effectively and ensure customers receive a high-quality service from initial order through to completion.<h3>What's on Offer?</h3><ul><li>£45,000 - £55,000 salary, depending on experience.</li><li>Benefits package.</li><li>Permanent, full-time opportunity.</li><li>Varied UK-wide projects.</li><li>A role offering genuine ownership and responsibility.</li><li>Opportunity to work across both project management and site delivery.</li></ul>If you're an experienced Project Manager from a construction, fit-out, interiors or specialist installation background and you're looking for a position where you can take genuine ownership of project delivery, we'd be keen to hear from you.Apply today for a confidential discussion.
