  • <p><strong>This newly created Finance Manager role for a rapidly growing Private Equity firm paying £85,000 to £95,000 depending on experience with a Discretionary bonus, based the heart of the City</strong></p><p><strong>Role</strong></p><p>This Financial Controller role will be working closely with the Finance Director to put in providing support for a growing team. Please find a brief outline of the role below.</p><ul><li>Lead the monthly close process for overseas entities: review trial balances, journals, intercompany positions, and manage balance sheet reconciliations.</li><li>Liaise with local finance teams and third-party advisors to ensure timely submission of financial data and compliance with group policies.</li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with country/entity directors in Ireland, Asia, US, and other jurisdictions, acting as a finance business partner.</li><li>Take responsibility for accurate reporting and forecasting of group-level (head office and shared) costs.</li><li>Manage budgeting, reforecasting, and variance analysis in coordination with business stakeholders.</li><li>Ensure appropriate cost allocations and intercompany recharges across divisions (e.g., Investment Trust and IPS) and subsidiary entities.</li><li>Support and own elements of group consolidation, including elimination entries and intercompany reconciliations for relevant entities.</li><li>Lead preparation of half-year and year-end group financial statements under IFRS.</li><li>Manage the day-to-day relationship with external Big 4 auditors.</li></ul><p><strong>Profile</strong></p><p>The Financial Controller for this Private Equity is ideally for the below</p><ul><li>A Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACCA) Audit Background with at least 4 years Post Qualified Experience</li><li>Someone with experience with IFRS and Statutory Reporting</li><li>Someone who's worked in a Group Function</li><li>Somone who's worked with Multiple entities- Ideally Europe and UK </li><li>Someone from Financial Services</li></ul><p><strong>Company</strong></p><p>The Financial Controller will report into a hugely impressive Finance Director who you will very closely on the day-to-day operations. The key focus will be to support the European business units, overseeing head office VAT compliance, and driving indirect tax input on cross-border projects, system implementations, and business initiatives. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for European indirect tax matters within the group, ensuring full compliance, managing risk, and identifying tax efficiencies.</p><p><strong>The Company</strong></p><p>This role offers the opportunity to join a global listed business with a number of well-known and respected brands. This role has the opportunity to gain exposure to senior leadership across multiple regions and business lines.</p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>As the Interim Head of Indirect Tax you would be supporting with:</p><ul><li>Provide proactive, practical advice on complex indirect tax matters.</li><li>Deliver strategic VAT advisory services and manage complex tax issues in collaboration with senior stakeholders.</li><li>Provide indirect tax input on key cross-border projects, including new business models, system implementations (e.g., ERP upgrades), and M&amp;A activity.</li><li>Contribute to the digitalisation of the tax function (e.g., e-invoicing, real-time reporting requirements).</li><li>Provide support with VAT audits, queries, and correspondence with tax authorities across multiple EU jurisdictions.</li><li>Develop and maintain strong relationships with European business units as well as external advisors.</li><li>Oversee VAT compliance for the head office companies to ensure timely and accurate submissions.</li><li>Ensure robust VAT processes and controls are in place to manage compliance risk.</li><li>Work closely with local finance, legal and commercial teams to ensure indirect tax is fully integrated into business decision-making.</li><li>Coach and mentor a junior VAT Manager.</li><li>Develop and deliver VAT training to finance and non-finance stakeholders.</li></ul><p><strong>Your Profile</strong></p><ul><li>Professional tax, accounting, or legal qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).</li><li>Strong understanding of UK and EU VAT legislation and emerging indirect tax developments (e.g., e-invoicing mandates, digital reporting requirements).</li><li>Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.</li><li>Prior experience in a similar Interim Head of Indirect Tax role would be beneficial but not necessary.</li></ul><p><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits</strong></p><p>A day rate of between £500-600/day inside IR35 (dependant on experience) should represent fair market value for you. The role offers the opportunity to run a highly visible team with influence over a number of key internal projects.
