Bedford Based </p><p><strong>Role</strong></p><p style="display: inline !important;"><strong>Strategic Architecture Development</strong></p><ul><li>The Enterprise Architect will define and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks encompassing IT and OT domains.</li><li>Establish and enforce architectural principles, policies, and standards.</li><li>Align architecture with MOD standards i.e. Secure by Design, JSP 453 and Defence Digital policies.</li><li>Lead on documenting current state as-is systems/networks and define to-be architecture requirements</li></ul><p><strong>Technology Integration</strong></p><ul><li>Design architectures that bridge traditional IT systems (networks, cloud, applications) with OT environments (SCADA, ICS, sensors, and control systems).</li><li>Work with multiple functions to translate functional and non-functional requirements for applications/systems/networks into technical solutions</li><li>Ensure secure data exchange between IT and OT systems while maintaining operational integrity.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Governance & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Establish architecture principles and standards in line with JSPs, NIST, and ISO/IEC frameworks.</li><li>Lead on writing/developing artefacts such as HLD, LLD, SyOps, System Security Plans, Requirements Traceability Matrices, RACI, etc.</li><li>Ensure compliance with Cyber Essentials Plus, DefStan 05-138, ISNs and relevant defence security regulations.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Stakeholder Engagement</strong></p><ul><li>Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, mediate complex discussions, gain support for initiatives and ensure architectural coherence.</li><li>Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on technology roadmaps and risk mitigation.</li><li>Guide risk-based, complex architectural decisions and lead architectural governance.</li><li>Design architectures that align with organisational objectives, influence structures, technology, and processes.</li><li>Lead the framing of complex problems, coach others in defining problems, and identify opportunities for solutions.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Innovation & Future Readiness</strong></p><ul><li>Lead on the technical business continuity and disaster recovery planning solutions</li><li>Design and implement secure, immutable backup solutions for IT and OT systems</li><li>Conduct horizon scanning to identify and assess emerging trends and their potential impact.</li><li>Drive digital transformation initiatives across corporate, secure and classified networks.</li></ul><p><strong>Essential Skills and Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>The Enterprise Architect will have proven experience in enterprise architecture within defence, aerospace, or critical national infrastructure.</li><li>Strong knowledge of IT domains i.e Servers, VMWare platforms, storage, networking, cybersecurity, applications) and OT systems i.e. ICS, SCADA, PLCs.</li><li>Familiarity with architectural frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF and ITIL.</li><li>Understanding of secure-by-design principles and accreditation processes for classified systems.</li><li>Experience of legacy IT transformation.</li><li>Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.</li><li>SC Security clearance or the ability to obtain it.</li></ul><p><strong>Profile</strong></p><ul><li>The Enterprise architect will have a proven experience in enterprise architecture within defence, aerospace, or critical national infrastructure.</li><li>Strong knowledge of IT domains i.e Servers, VMWare platforms, storage, networking, cybersecurity, applications) and OT systems i.e. ICS, SCADA, PLCs.</li><li>Familiarity with architectural frameworks and methodologies such as TOGAF and ITIL.</li><li>Understanding of secure-by-design principles and accreditation processes for classified systems.</li><li>Experience of legacy IT transformation.</li><li>Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.</li><li>SC Security clearance or the ability to obtain it.</li></ul><p><strong>Company</strong></p><ul><li>Market leading Aerospace organisation</li><li>Offices in Bedford </li><li>6 month initial contract </li><li>SC Clearance needed </li></ul><p><strong>Salary & Benefits</strong></p><p>The salary range/rates of pay is dependent upon your experience, qualifications or training.</p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
