You'll join a collaborative finance team focused on maximising cash collection, resolving queries efficiently and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.</p><h2>The Role</h2><p class="isSelectedEnd">Reporting into the Credit Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of accounts, ensuring outstanding debt is collected in a timely and professional manner while delivering an exceptional customer experience.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">Key responsibilities include:</p><ul data-spread="false"><li>Managing the end-to-end credit control process across a high-volume ledger.</li><li>Chasing outstanding debt via phone, email and written correspondence.</li><li>Building strong working relationships with <strong>Local Authorities, NHS Trusts</strong> and internal stakeholders.</li><li>Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries to minimise delays in collection.</li><li>Allocating cash and credit notes accurately.</li><li>Performing detailed account reconciliations.</li><li>Maintaining accurate records of collection activity and debt recovery actions.</li><li>Producing regular updates on aged debt and collection performance.</li><li>Supporting continuous improvement within the credit control function.</li></ul><h2>About You</h2><p class="isSelectedEnd">You'll be an experienced Credit Controller with excellent communication skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">You'll ideally have:</p><ul data-spread="false"><li>Proven end-to-end credit control experience.</li><li><strong>Previous experience collecting debt from Local Authorities and/or NHS organisations (essential).</strong></li><li>Strong reconciliation and cash allocation skills.</li><li>Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF.</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.</li><li>The ability to build relationships while confidently managing difficult conversations.</li><li>A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.</li><li>Experience working within a hybrid team environment.</li></ul><h2>What's on Offer</h2><ul data-spread="false"><li>Up to £34,000 salary.</li><li>Hybrid working.</li><li>Excellent benefits package including life assurance and retail discounts.</li><li>Ongoing training and career development.</li><li>The opportunity to join a supportive, collaborative finance team within a growing organisation that genuinely makes a difference.</li></ul><p class="isSelectedEnd">If you're an experienced Credit Controller with a background working with <strong>Local Authority and NHS accounts</strong> and are looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.</p><p><strong>Apply today or contact Robert Half for a confidential conversation.</strong></p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
