Robert Half are pleased to be partnering with an established organisation based in Kidlington to recruit a Senior Management Accountant (Finance Manager). The Senior Management Accountant will receive a base salary up to £56,300 along with an attractive benefits package including mostly remote working; 1-2 days a week in the office max. This role is in the public sector; however, the hiring manager has no preference between public and private sector. This role will have 3 direct reports. Strong leadership is highly desirable for the role. Primary responsibilities; <ul><li>Own the month-end process, ensuring timetables are adhered to and producing accurate management accounts and reporting packs, including outturn and commentary, within agreed SLAs.</li><li>Oversee compliance and income generation, leading on grant returns and working with business leads to ensure accuracy, meet deadlines and maximise cost recovery opportunities.</li><li>Ensure relevant financial analysis, information requests and statutory returns are completed accurately and within deadlines.</li><li>Maintain and update the fixed asset register to support year-end close, ensuring compliance with capital policies and accounting standards.</li><li>Manage, develop and coach direct reports, setting clear objectives, supporting personal development and recognising achievements.</li><li>Review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial controls are maintained.</li><li>Support the preparation of annual accounts and external audit, assisting the Finance Operations Manager in delivering the year-end timetable.</li><li>Ensure financial processes and procedures are followed, proactively identifying improvements and supporting continuous development, systems enhancements and upskilling across the team.</li></ul> Key experience and attributes; <ul><li>Qualified/Part-qualified accountant to maintain professional standards and continuous development. Or qualified by experience.</li><li>Extremely analytical with strong Excel skills and the ability to interpret and analyse data, identifying and highlighting trends to infer meaning and facilitate action.</li><li>Proven line management experience and ability to coach and mentor staff.</li><li>Good communication and co-ordination skills with a customer-focused and results driven mentality.</li><li>Strong presentational skills and the ability to explain financial results and outputs to senior management.</li><li>Demonstrable experience of leading and supporting change and driving process improvement.</li><li>Demonstrate attention to detail and taking ownership of outputs.</li></ul>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
