<p><strong>Interim Group Financial Controller</strong></p><p><strong>3-6 Month Interim Assignment | £450-£450 per day Umbrella | [Cheltenham / Hybrid]</strong></p><p>A senior interim opportunity with genuine ownership and direct CFO exposure</p><p>Robert Half is exclusively supporting an established organisation in the appointment of an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller for an initial 3-6 month assignment.</p><p>Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a key role within the finance leadership team and an opportunity for an experienced interim to step into a broad remit, take ownership and make a visible impact.</p><p>This isn't a role where you'll simply be producing the numbers.</p><p>You'll have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the finance function, the quality of financial reporting and controls, and the wider processes that support the business.</p><p><strong>Assignment details:</strong></p><p>Duration: 3-6 months<br /> Rate: £450-£450 per day Umbrella<br /> Location: Cheltenham, GL51<br /> Start: ASAP</p><p>Reporting to: CFO</p><p><strong>What you'll be doing:</strong></p><p>You'll take ownership across the full operational finance function, including:</p><ul><li>Leading the month-end close and delivery of accurate management accounts across P&L, balance sheet and cashflow</li><li>Ensuring robust financial controls, reconciliations and balance sheet integrity</li><li>Leading budgeting, rolling forecasts and scenario planning</li><li>Providing clear analysis and insight to the CFO and senior leadership team</li><li>Owning cashflow forecasting and working capital management</li><li>Overseeing debtor and creditor performance</li><li>Managing the year-end statutory accounts and external audit</li><li>Overseeing VAT and wider tax compliance</li><li>Leading and developing the finance team</li><li>Improving finance processes, systems, reporting and automation</li><li>Working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to improve financial visibility and decision-making</li><li>Acting as a trusted partner to the CFO and deputising where required</li></ul><p>What we're looking for</p><p>You'll be a qualified accountant - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent - with a strong track record in Financial Controller, Group Financial Controller, Head of Finance or a similar senior finance position.</p><p>More importantly, you'll be someone who can hit the ground running.</p><p>You'll have:</p><ul><li>Strong hands-on experience across management accounts and financial control</li><li>A solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cashflow</li><li>Experience with statutory accounts and audit</li><li>Proven experience managing and developing finance teams</li><li>Strong technical accounting knowledge</li><li>The confidence to work with senior non-finance stakeholders</li><li>A pragmatic, commercial approach</li><li>Experience improving processes, systems and reporting</li><li>The ability to operate independently and take ownership from day one</li></ul><p>Experience working across multiple entities would be advantageous.</p><p>Why consider it?</p><p>For an experienced interim, this is an opportunity to take on a genuine Group FC remit, working directly with the CFO and having influence across the wider finance function.</p><p>You'll have the scope to get involved in the detail where required, whilst also stepping back to improve controls, reporting, processes and the way finance supports the wider business.</p><p>If you're an experienced interim FC who enjoys coming into a business, getting up to speed quickly and leaving things in a stronger position, this could be a particularly good fit.</p><p>If you're available now, coming available shortly, or would like to discuss the assignment confidentially, please don't hesitate to apply.</p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions. You will provide support across the finance function, with a particular focus on Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger.</p><h3>Key responsibilities</h3><ul data-spread="false"><li>Managing the AP inbox and processing, coding and authorising invoices.</li><li>Reviewing supplier statements and resolving queries.</li><li>Preparing supplier payment runs and issuing remittances.</li><li>Raising purchase orders and processing prepayments.</li><li>Liaising with suppliers and internal colleagues to resolve outstanding queries.</li><li>Supporting the Fees Ledger and school fee administration.</li><li>Assisting with reconciliations, journals, budgets, management accounts and audit preparation.</li><li>Supporting petty cash and general finance administration.</li></ul><h3>About you</h3><p class="isSelectedEnd">You will have strong Accounts Payable experience and a proactive, organised and methodical approach.
