You will join the IT team of 3 Python Developer in London reporting into the development manager. This role is a hybrid between the traditional Python Developer role and a data engineer.</p><p>This is a great opportunity for someone to continue developing technically and learn lots in the job. This work sits within a strategic engineering function focused on delivering next-generation Audio/Video processing, multiplexing, and broadcast network services across legacy and cloud environments.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Assignment Details</strong></p><ul><li>Initial Duration: <strong>6 months</strong> (with potential extension) - start ASAP</li><li>Location: <strong>Primarily remote - occasional on-site near Hampshire</strong></li><li>Day Rate: <strong>£p/day</strong></li></ul><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><p>You'll work closely with Broadcast Engineering, Network Engineering and Product teams to <strong>design, deploy, optimise and troubleshoot</strong> Audio & Video processing systems across broadcast and satellite networks. The role requires someone with a <strong>blend of broadcast engineering knowledge, multiplexing expertise, strong network fundamentals, and cloud/virtualisation awareness</strong>, able to support both legacy platforms and emerging cloud-based media workflows.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Skills & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Proven experience as a <strong>Broadcast Engineer, Audio/Video Engineer, or Network Engineer</strong> within broadcast or satellite communications</li><li>Strong knowledge of <strong>encoding, multiplexing, transcoding and A/V processing</strong> technologies</li><li>Hands-on experience installing, testing, analysing and optimising A/V processing equipment</li><li>Understanding of IP-based broadcast delivery, contribution/distribution networks and integration with existing broadcast infrastructure</li><li>Ability to engage with SMEs and technical teams to troubleshoot issues and drive improvements</li><li>Experience supporting the integration of <strong>legacy broadcast systems with cloud or virtualised architectures</strong></li><li>Proficiency with diagnostic engineering tools and broadcast monitoring systems</li><li>Awareness of <strong>AWS, Azure or Google Cloud</strong> environments advantageous</li><li>Strong documentation, communication and stakeholder management skills</li></ul><p> </p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer to help shape next-generation broadcast network services within a high-impact media and connectivity programme.</p><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
