They leverage design principles, storytelling techniques and expertise in presentation software to create impactful narratives for businesses and individuals, ensuring clarity, engagement, and consistent brand messaging across all communication platforms.

Presentation designer role and responsibilities

Conceptualise, design and format professional presentations that are visually engaging, easy to understand, and aligned with client objectives.Develop bespoke presentation templates, layouts, and master slides, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and promoting visual consistency.Translate complex data and concepts into clear and impactful visual elements, including charts, infographics, icons, and diagrams.Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their communication goals, refine content structure, and optimise messaging for maximum audience impact.Ensure presentations are optimised for various delivery formats (in-person, virtual, digital distribution, print) and proactively troubleshoot any design or technical issues.Incorporate dynamic elements such as animations, transitions, and multimedia (video, audio) to enhance audience engagement and retention.Stay up-to-date with the latest presentation design trends, software advancements, and best practices.Manage multiple presentation projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.

Skills, qualifications and experience:

Technical proficiency: Expert-level mastery of presentation software (primarily Microsoft PowerPoint, with potential experience in Google Slides, Keynote, or other platforms). Strong understanding of Slide Master functionality and advanced animation techniques.Design expertise: A deep understanding of visual communication principles, including layout, typography, colour theory, visual hierarchy, and branding. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is highly desirable for creating and editing visual assets.Data visualisation skills: Ability to effectively visualise data using charts, graphs, and infographics to communicate insights clearly and concisely.Experience: Proven experience of 2+ years in presentation design or a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of professional and impactful presentations.Certifications: Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in PowerPoint or equivalent certifications are a plus.Soft skills: Exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong time management and organisational abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.Understanding of storytelling: Ability to structure presentations in a logical and engaging manner, using storytelling principles to enhance audience connection.
