A Tax Analyst supports corporate tax compliance, reporting and related financial activities to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to applicable tax regulations. They prepare tax documentation, analyze financial data, support tax filings, conduct tax research and assist with audit requirements.Working closely with accounting, finance and business teams, Tax Analysts help organizations navigate evolving tax requirements, regulatory changes and complex financial operations by maintaining accurate tax records, improving tax processes and supporting informed business decisions.

Typical tax analyst duties:

Prepare and review corporate tax workpapers, filings, supporting schedules and documentation to support timely and accurate tax compliance.Assist with corporate income tax reporting by gathering financial information, reviewing tax data and ensuring supporting documentation is complete and accurate.Manage indirect tax activities, including sales tax, goods and services tax (GST), harmonized sales tax (HST) and other applicable provincial or transactional tax requirements.Analyze tax-related data, perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to support accurate reporting and compliance.Utilize tax technology platforms and financial systems to support tax calculations, reporting processes and compliance activities.Maintain fixed asset tax records, support depreciation analysis and assist with reporting requirements related to asset activity.Collaborate with accounting, finance and operational teams to research tax questions, resolve variances and improve the accuracy of tax information.Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to information requests and maintaining organized tax records.Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, reporting workflows and data management through process improvements and automation.
