Project managers play critical roles on technology teams, providing the requisite leadership and planning for program and portfolio management, aligning skills and resources, as well as monitoring, managing, and controlling company projects. Independent judgment is required to oversee system development and implementation according to the company’s methodology and standards. Project managers coordinate and oversee the activities of the project team, identifying, prioritizing, authorizing, managing, and controlling projects and programs to achieve strategic business objectives.
