A Lawyer with 7+ years of experience provides strategic legal guidance, leads complex legal matters and advises clients, executives and stakeholders on significant legal, commercial and regulatory issues. They bring extensive legal expertise and professional judgment to manage sophisticated transactions, disputes, negotiations and advisory matters while delivering practical solutions aligned with organizational and client objectives.

Working closely with clients, senior leadership, legal teams, external counsel and business stakeholders, experienced Lawyers help manage legal risk, mentor less experienced professionals, shape legal strategy and strengthen the effectiveness of legal teams.

Typical lawyer, 7+ years' experience duties:

Lead and oversee complex legal matters, including developing strategies, managing execution and delivering outcomes that support client and organizational objectives.

Provide strategic legal advice to clients, executives and senior stakeholders on complex legal, commercial, regulatory and risk-related matters.

Act as a trusted advisor by translating legal considerations into practical recommendations that support business decisions and long-term goals.

Draft, review and negotiate highly complex agreements, transactions, legal opinions, pleadings and other sophisticated legal documentation.

Lead significant negotiations, transactions, disputes, regulatory matters, hearings or other legal proceedings within their area of expertise.

Develop comprehensive legal strategies that address business objectives while proactively identifying and mitigating legal, financial and operational risks.

Manage high-priority legal files, complex deadlines, stakeholder relationships and matter resources while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Advise on corporate governance, compliance obligations, regulatory developments and emerging legal issues affecting clients or organizations.

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, executives, external counsel and industry stakeholders.

Provide mentorship, coaching and guidance to lawyers, articling students, paralegals and legal support professionals.

Review and provide guidance on the work of junior legal professionals to support quality, consistency and professional development.

Contribute to legal team leadership by improving processes, developing best practices and supporting operational effectiveness.

Support business development initiatives, client retention strategies and the growth of legal services.

Monitor changes in legislation, regulations and industry trends to provide proactive legal guidance and identify emerging opportunities or risks.

Represent the organization or clients as a senior legal advisor in strategic discussions, negotiations and external engagements.

Strong focus on business development and client origination - develop relationships with existing and new clients by attending industry events, conferences, cross-selling and managing client relationships with minimal supervision.
