They are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to support a key business division focused on accommodation and community-based services. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, delivering quality reporting, and contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and month-end processes.</p><h3 id="the-role">The Role</h3><p>Reporting into the finance leadership team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, analysis, and reporting of key financial data across a multi-faceted operational portfolio. You will also provide financial management support, contribute to month-end and year-end activities, and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and compliance requirements.</p><h3 id="key-responsibilities">Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Prepare month-end journals in line with relevant accounting standards</li><li>Reconcile balance sheet accounts and sub-ledgers</li><li>Manage accounting activities for an accommodation and community services portfolio</li><li>Deliver accurate and timely monthly management reports</li><li>Analyse budget variances and provide meaningful commentary on performance</li><li>Assist in preparing financial commentary for management reporting</li><li>Support the annual budgeting and cash flow forecasting process</li><li>Provide reporting across multiple operating business units within the portfolio</li><li>Oversee monthly financial close activities for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including year-end support</li><li>Provide advice on financial management, reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, compliance, and financial policy matters</li><li>Liaise with internal finance teams and operational stakeholders to gather information and ensure consistency in financial processes</li><li>Assist with annual reporting requirements, month-end close, subsidiary ledger close, and reconciliations</li><li>Support ad hoc finance tasks and projects as required</li></ul><h3 id="your-profile">Your Profile</h3><p>To be successful in this role, you will bring:</p><ul><li>A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline</li><li>Full professional membership with a recognised Australian accounting body such as CA ANZ or CPA Australia</li><li>Proven experience in financial management, accounting, reporting, and analysis</li><li>Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial legislation, and best practice, including exposure to IFRS</li><li>Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting</li><li>Strong reconciliation and month-end close experience</li><li>Advanced Excel skills and strong overall systems capability</li><li>Experience using ERP/accounting systems</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups</li><li>Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines</li><li>A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and show initiative</li></ul><h3 id="whats-on-offer">What's on Offer</h3><ul><li>Opportunity to join a large, respected organisation with a complex and interesting portfolio</li><li>Broad role with exposure to reporting, business partnering, budgeting, and operational finance</li><li>Collaborative team environment</li><li>Meaningful work supporting essential accommodation and community-focused services</li><li>Central Perth location</li></ul><h3 id="apply-today">Apply Today</h3><p>If you are a qualified accountant looking for your next challenge in a dynamic and purpose-driven environment, we would love to hear from you.</p><p>Apply now or contact Robert Half for a confidential discussion.</p><p><em>By clicking 'apply', you give your express consent that Robert Half may use your personal information to process your job application and to contact you from time to time for future employment opportunities.
