You will also act as a trusted second-in-command within payroll, stepping up to oversee the process when the Payroll Manager is away.With the organisation continuing to grow and evolve, there will be plenty of opportunity to contribute ideas, improve processes and help shape more efficient ways of working across the payroll function.Payroll will make up approximately 75% of the position, with the remaining 25% focused on HR administration, predominantly employment contracts and employee documentation. Previous HR experience isn't essential, with training available.This is a permanent, office-based opportunity with onsite parking and flexibility around start and finish times for the right person.What You'll Do:<ul><li>Manage the end-of-the-end weekly payroll for approximately 600 employees across multiple business entities.</li><li>Process new starters, terminations, employee changes, time sheets and payroll variations.</li><li>Complete payroll calculations, including leave and employee entitlements.</li><li>Manage payroll enquiries and provide support to employees and managers.</li><li>Complete payroll reporting and reconciliations and maintain accurate employee records.</li><li>Step in to oversee the payroll process when the Payroll Manager is away.</li><li>Support continuous improvement across payroll processes and systems.</li><li>Provide HR administration support across approximately 25% of the role, including employment contracts and employee documentation.</li></ul>About YouYou will be an experienced payroll professional who is confident managing end-to-end payroll in a busy environment. You'll be organised, approachable and proactive, with the ability to build strong relationships across the business.Experience required:<ul><li>Around 4+ years' payroll experience, ideally in a Senior Payroll Officer or similar role.</li><li>Strong end-to-end payroll experience within a high-volume environment.</li><li>Experience processing weekly payroll, including timesheets, leave, new starters, terminations and payroll adjustments.</li><li>Experience with payroll reconciliations and reporting.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Comfortable taking ownership and stepping up when required.</li><li>Experience with Employment Hero would be highly regarded; however, similar payroll systems will also be considered.</li><li>A proactive and adaptable approach, with an interest in improving processes as the business continues to grow.</li></ul>Previous HR administration experience is not required; being open to learning and supporting this part of the position is more important.Apply TodaySubmit your CV directly via email to Maria Saavedra [email protected] or by pressing the Apply button.Robert Half Ltd is committed to equal opportunity, and we value diversity at our company. Your opportunityYou will be joining an established, Brisbane-based hospitality group with a diverse range of operations spanning food and beverage, restaurants, functions and other commercial activities.Working within a small finance team, you will take responsibility for a varied mix of payroll and transactional finance activities. The role has a strong focus on fortnightly payroll and accounts receivable, including monthly billing, statements and customer account queries, alongside accounts payable and reconciliations.This is a hands-on position, well-suited to someone who has a solid grounding in accounts, some payroll experience and the confidence to deal with customers and suppliers. You will need to be organised, accurate and comfortable adapting to changing priorities, with a willingness to help across the wider finance function when needed.The role is based in the Brisbane CBD, five days per week.What you'll be doingReporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance & Payroll Officer will be responsible for:<ul><li>Processing fortnightly payroll for approximately 100 employees, including new starters, terminations and leave.</li><li>Managing accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, monthly statements, account adjustments and resolving queries.</li><li>Maintaining accurate customer accounts and ensuring billing and reconciliations are completed on time.</li><li>Processing supplier invoices, checking coding and GST treatment, and assisting with payment runs.</li><li>Completing bank reconciliations, cash balancing and general ledger reconciliations.</li><li>Supporting month-end activities and maintaining accurate financial records.</li><li>Responding to queries from customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.</li><li>Assisting with finance systems and process improvements, including accounts payable workflows.</li><li>Providing support across the finance team as priorities require.</li></ul>Who you areYou are experienced across Finance within a broad sense, with specific exposure to payroll processing.
