With a strong data and technology environment already in place, the organisation is now focused on improving how data is managed, owned and used across the business.The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Data Governance Manager to lead a small team and drive the organisation's data governance and management strategy.This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can bridge the gap between technology, data and the wider business. You'll play a key role in improving data ownership, stewardship, quality and governance while helping embed better data practices across the organisation. You'll also be involved in significant transformation initiatives, including post-merger integration and broader data transformation programs. Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead and develop a small Data Governance team</li><li>Drive the organisation's data governance and data management strategy</li><li>Establish and improve data ownership, accountability and stewardship</li><li>Develop and implement data governance policies, standards and frameworks</li><li>Improve data quality, metadata, lineage and data management practices</li><li>Work with business leaders and Data Stewards to embed governance into day-to-day operations</li><li>Support major transformation, migration and integration initiatives</li><li>Help develop and implement modern data governance and catalogue capabilities</li><li>Partner with Data, Technology, Architecture and business teams</li><li>Support data risk, regulatory and compliance requirements</li><li>Drive greater data literacy and accountability across the organisation</li></ul> Skills & Experience<ul><li>5+ years' experience in Data Governance, Data Management or a closely related discipline</li><li>Experience within banking, financial services, insurance or superannuation</li><li>Proven experience leading data governance initiatives and improving organisational data maturity</li><li>Experience managing or developing Data Stewards and/or data ownership frameworks</li><li>Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills</li><li>Experience working across large-scale transformation, migration, integration or change programs</li><li>Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, lineage and data management</li><li>Comfortable working with modern data platforms and governance tools such as Databricks, Microsoft Purview or similar</li><li>Understanding of data risk and regulatory requirements within financial services</li><li>A pragmatic, collaborative approach with the resilience and confidence to influence stakeholders and drive changes</li></ul> Apply TodayPlease send your resume by clicking on the apply button or for further information, contact Sam Rothery in our Melbourne office on (03) 9691 3661 or email [email protected] with your resume.
