<p>Robert Half is currently partnering with a local government organisation based in the Eastern Suburbs to recruit an experienced Senior Financial Accountant for a 3-month contract to support with year-end financial preparation.</p><p>**Please not this role is looking to start ASAP so you must be immediately available to be considered for this role**</p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Prepare year-end financial statements from trial balance, including detailed note disclosures.</li><li>Take the lead on best practice financial reporting, including creating schedules, conducting reconciliations, and ensuring compliance.</li><li>Leverage your existing audit background experience (preferably at Associate Director level or higher) to drive audit-ready financial processes.</li><li>Utilize your extensive expertise in financial modelling to support decision-making and analysis.</li><li>Act as a trusted liaison with external auditors to ensure smooth and accurate auditing processes.</li><li>Bring your familiarity with local government operations (preferred but not mandatory) to streamline workflows and procedures.</li></ul><p>About You:</p><ul><li>CA/CPA Qualified</li><li>Proven track record of success in high-level financial reporting or audit roles, ideally coming from a Big4/Mid-tier background.</li><li>Exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, and analytical in your approach to financial reporting and reconciliations.</li><li>Local government experience is a bonus, but having expertise in applying leading reporting practices is key.</li></ul><p>What's On Offer:</p><ul><li>Well-established organisation with a positive team culture</li><li>Free onsite parking</li><li>Competitive hourly rate and full-time working hours</li></ul><p><br /> </p><p><em>By clicking 'apply', you give your express consent that Robert Half may use your personal information to process your job application and to contact you from time to time for future employment opportunities.
