The business is experiencing significant growth and requires a commercially minded finance leader to oversee and enhance its transactional finance function.</p><p>Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the end-to-end finance operations function, leading a team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, banking and cash management, while driving process improvements, automation and operational excellence.</p><p>This role would suit a qualified finance professional who enjoys improving processes, leveraging technology and building scalable finance operations within a growing business.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><h3>Finance Operations</h3><ul><li>Lead the day-to-day transactional finance function, overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing and banking activities.</li><li>Ensure accurate and timely invoicing across multiple entities and locations.</li><li>Oversee cash allocation, bank reconciliations and cash management processes.</li><li>Manage supplier payment runs and working capital processes.</li><li>Drive strong credit control and cash collection activities.</li><li>Support month-end close by ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.</li><li>Maintain robust financial controls and balance sheet integrity across operational finance.</li></ul><h3>Process Improvement & Automation</h3><p>A key part of the role will be identifying opportunities to improve, simplify and automate finance processes.</p><p>You will:</p><ul><li>Review existing workflows and identify efficiencies across AP, AR and banking.</li><li>Reduce manual processes through automation and better use of systems.</li><li>Lead finance systems enhancements and process optimisation practices.</li></ul><h2>About You</h2><p><strong>Essential:</strong></p><ul><li>ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.</li><li>Proven experience leading and developing transactional finance teams.</li><li>Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, banking and financial controls.</li><li>Demonstrable experience improving finance processes and driving automation.</li><li>Strong systems and ERP experience.</li><li>Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.</li></ul><h2>Most Important Things (MITs)</h2><p>The client is particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:</p><ul><li>Qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong academic and professional background.</li><li>Proven team management experience, including developing teams and improving AP/AR processes.</li><li>Experience within a multi-site environment, ideally from sectors such as retail, hospitality, property, real estate or other customer-facing businesses.</li></ul><h2>Desirable Experience</h2><ul><li>Finance transformation or systems implementation experience.</li><li>Exposure to ERP and finance automation tools such as Sage Intacct, Yooz or similar platforms.</li><li>Experience within a fast-growing or private
