  • <h2>Management Accountant</h2><p class="isSelectedEnd"><strong>Location:</strong> Fully office-based<br /><strong>Salary:</strong> £40,000 per annum</p><h3>About the Role</h3><p class="isSelectedEnd">We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join an established finance team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong understanding of management accounts, month-end processes and transactional finance, who is looking to take ownership of key areas of the finance function.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">Working closely with the wider finance team and internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for producing accurate financial information, supporting month-end reporting and providing meaningful analysis to help the business make informed decisions.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul data-spread="false"><li>Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring accounts are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.</li><li>Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and supporting schedules.</li><li>Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances.</li><li>Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, journals and other month-end adjustments.</li><li>Analyse financial performance, identifying key variances against budget and forecast.</li><li>Produce regular management reports and financial analysis for senior stakeholders.</li><li>Support budgeting and forecasting processes.</li><li>Manage and review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity, ensuring the underlying ledgers remain accurate.</li><li>Perform regular bank and control account reconciliations.</li><li>Monitor financial data and investigate discrepancies, ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken.</li><li>Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting information as required.</li><li>Support the wider finance team with process improvements and ad-hoc financial analysis.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting processes and the efficiency of the finance function.</li></ul><h3>About You</h3><p class="isSelectedEnd">We are looking for an experienced Management Accountant who is confident working independently and taking ownership of their responsibilities. You will have strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.</p><p class="isSelectedEnd">You will ideally have:</p><ul data-spread="false"><li>Several years' experience within a finance or management accounting environment.</li><li>Proven experience preparing monthly management accounts.</li><li>Strong understanding of month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.</li><li>Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.</li><li>Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables and data analysis.</li><li>Excellent numerical and analytical skills.</li><li>Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.</li><li>A proactive approach, with the confidence to investigate issues and identify solutions.</li><li>Good communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the business.</li><li>Experience working with accounting software.</li></ul><h3>Desirable</h3><ul data-spread="false"><li>AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualification, or actively studying towards a relevant qualification.</li><li>Experience using Xero or similar accounting software.</li><li>Previous experience supporting budgeting and forecasting.</li><li>Experience working within a commercially focused finance environment.</li></ul><h3>What's on Offer</h3><ul data-spread="false"><li>£40,000 per annum.</li><li>Fully office-based position.</li><li>A hands-on Management Accountant role with genuine ownership and responsibility.</li><li>Exposure to month-end reporting, financial analysis and wider finance processes.</li><li>Opportunity to develop your technical and commercial accounting experience within a supportive finance team.</li></ul><p>Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
